(WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — Open-source email and collaboration software provider Open-Xchange (www.open-xchange.com) has forged an agreement with domain name registrar EuroDNS (www.eurodns.com) to extend Open-Xchange webmail and Personal Information Management to more than 250,000 EuroDNS customers at no additional charge.
Based in Luxembourg with branch offices in Europe, the US and Asia, EuroDNS specializes in international domain extensions and serves a large variety of clients ranging from small and medium-size business to some of the largest domain investors.
According to Open-Xchange’s Wednesday announcement, EuroDNS will get both Open-Xchange webmail and PIM within the next month at no additional charge with an option to upgrade to full groupware and add support for mobile devices.
EuroDNS chief executive officer Xavier Buck said his SMB customers have requested Software-as-a-Service applications for better office communications and secure document storage. “Open-Xchange is the ideal platform to extend our application services from hosting to SaaS,” Buck said in a statement. “Open-Xchange provides unmatched user experience and features, along with a very attractive price point for our customers.”
Open-Xchange software integrates email, calendar, contact and task management with advanced groupware features such as information management and document sharing. Productivity is enhanced through unique teamwork features, like team view, single-password document sharing, and shared calendars, contacts, tasks and documents.
“Open-Xchange helps service providers to gain competitive advantage and significantly grow profitability,” Open-Xchange CEO Rafael Laguna stated. “By leveraging our Open-Xchange software, EuroDNS will strengthen their relationship with existing customers, increase their average revenue per user and attract new customers.”
With features recently introduced with the launch of “Social OX,” Open-Xchange gives users the ability to consolidate any kind of existing webmail accounts (such as Gmail and Yahoo! Mail) into a folder within Open-Xchange for easier management. Contact details from social networks such as Facebook, LinkedIn or Xing can also be added automatically to the Open-Xchange address book, giving users easy access to the latest contact information within their personal network.
Open-Xchange is used by more than 15 million users worldwide as hosted and on-premises business-class email and groupware. In April, developer 4PSA software (www.4psa.com) released an extension that integrates Open-Xchange with Parallels Panel, enabling Web hosts and SaaS providers to replace Plesk Webmail in shared hosting environments with Open-Xchange.
