Etelos Partners With 3Tera

October 24, 2006 — (WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — Open source SaaS business solution provider Etelos (etelos.com) announced on Monday it has partnered with grid and utility computing solutions provider 3Tera (3tera.com), enabling Etelos’ customers to use scalability technologies to increase computing power and manage Web applications on demand.

Companies running an Etelos application can now deploy with Web hosts that leverage 3Tera’s AppLogic grid operating system, providing them with flexibility and control over their applications and infrastructure in real-time as their business expands. An entire server infrastructure can be remotely managed, deployed and scaled on demand using a Web browser, providing Etelos’ customers with scalable, highly available application hosting environments.

3Tera’s AppLogic platform enables Web hosts to offer utility computing services to Web 2.0 and SaaS companies. Businesses that host Etelos Applications on 3Tera’s grid computing system can scale its Etelos servers in minutes and pay only for the resources they need.

“Etelos has always stressed the ability to scale infrastructure to meet user demand,” says Danny Kolke, Etelos president and CEO. “For any savvy technologist, setting up an infrastructure to support hosting can be a challenging and time consuming process. 3Tera solves all of that. Now, if a customer’s site quickly gains traffic through events such as the Digg effect, additional infrastructure can be deployed in seconds to handle the traffic.”
