(WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — Data center operator Equinix (www.equinix.com) announced on Friday it has begun a 100-day rebranding process for the former Switch & Data Facilities (www.switchanddata.com).
Earlier this week, Equinix announced it had finally closed the acquisition of rival data center operator Switch and Data for $683 million.
Former Switch & Data CEO Keith Olson has officially left the company following the April 30th closing date.
Equinix president and CEO Stephen Smith told investors on a conference call that the company has made a “significant amount” of effort in devising an integration plan that would seamlessly merge Switch & Data operations into Equinix.
Smith says that integration teams were dispersed in many locations to welcome Switch & Data employees joining Equinix, as well as realign the organization and rebrand data centers from Switch & Data to Equinix.
A quick look at the Switch & Data site shows the Equinix logo on display as well as a note that reads, “Switch and Data is now Equinix”.
