App stores are an increasingly popular way to sell a range of software options, whether to consumers, enterprises, or service providers, but ecommerce SaaS provider ePages is doing one better by launching an “App & Theme Store,” the company announced Wednesday. ePages will also expand its offerings with premium shop themes and expand its ecosystem “to many more independent software vendors.”
Apps will eventually support many business processes including accounting, marketing, search engine optimization and logistics. Apps are individually priced and offered in local languages and English, and all are deployed from the admin of the merchant’s shop. Themes are currently offered for half price as a special launch offer. Apps and themes are integrated via pre-defined API standard, and are activated by merchants in consultation with ePages reseller partners.
“ePages has long been a trusted expert in the science of selling,” said ePages CEO Wilfried Beeck. “Our App & Theme Store goes one step further in always ensuring that ePages merchants can adapt their stores to requirements rapidly, respond to new trends and implement impactful techniques to win sales, build brands and drive efficiencies”.
Apps are divided into four categories: apps for launching an enterprise, like Pixelz, Logaster, and Lengoo; growing an enterprise, including apps like Hootsuite, GetSocial, and rankingCoach; improving customer experience, which includes Zendesk, Justuno and Smartsupp; and finally apps for managing an enterprise which includes Act! Essentials, OneSaaS and Shippo.
ePages sales partners Strato, 1&1, and Daily Internet are among those now offering the App & Theme Store to merchant subscribers, and it will continue rolling out over the upcoming weeks.
Ecommerce spending is expected to grow rapidly over the next few years, starting in mature internet markets, and providing a significant potential revenue stream for hosting providers and software resellers.
