California-based cloud computing provider Metacloud is planning to open an office in Austin and double its workforce over the next 24 months, according to a report by the Austin Business Journal on Wednesday.

Metacloud CEO Sean Lynch said the company is looking to hire between 20 and 30 employees in several areas, including engineering operations and marketing. Austin marks its third office as the company already has two offices in California.

Founded in 2011, Metacloud provides OpenStack-based enterprise cloud computing. Its private cloud solution, Metacloud OpenStack, has customers including startups and a Fortune 100 customer.

In May, Metacloud raised $15 million in a Series B funding round, and said at the time that it planned to use the capital to expand its team and ramp up development.

Metacloud has already started establishing its Austin team with the additions of two former Rackspace executives, Scott Sanchez and Niki Acosta as VP of strategy and director of evangelism, respectively.

Recently, Canonical and Mirantis partnered to provide private cloud solutions based on Mirantis OpenStack and UbuntuGuesOS.
