May 23, 2006 — (WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — Web hosting service enablement and automation software provider Ensim (ensim.com) announced on Monday that it is preparing to release its newest control panel, Ensim Pro X.

Ensim Pro X includes more than 50 new features and represents the first simultaneous release in the Web hosting industry of a control panel for three separate operating systems: Windows 2003, Fedora Core IV and CentOS 4.3.

“As a multiple release, Ensim Pro X represents a significant breakthrough for the industry because it enables service providers to upgrade the control panel simultaneously across three major operating systems, rather than having to perform an upgrade each time a new edition is released,” says Sandip Gupta, president and CEO of Ensim. “Ensim Pro X also delivers important new features and tools that will help hosters increase revenues and lower costs, and allow end users to quickly and easily customize their sites in brand new ways and deploy the most popular web applications at the click of a button.”

Pro X delivers new functions for each Web hosting component and for all administrator levels, enabling enhanced usability, security and customization. Pro X also features a powerful Universal License Manager for both Windows and Linux, allowing Web hosting providers to manage hundreds of servers with a single master license key, rather than a key for each server.

Pro X for Linux features a re-engineered user interface that enables complete customization, modularity and flexibility. The control panel will include Fedora Core IV support, PHP5 support, and a decoupling of Ensim Pro from the operating system, which allows customers the flexibility to upgrade their operating system as needed.

Some unique features available to the Windows version of the control panel include support for ASP.NET 2.0, MySQL 5.0, NAT environments and updated add-ons for applications such as messaging with integration with MailEnable and SmarterMail.

Each control panel also comes with personal wiki, a new PowerTool that comes free of charge with every license of Ensim Pro X and is a product completely unique to Ensim’s control panel.

“We wanted to provide end customers with the usability of wiki in terms of content creation and management, but for a personal Web site,” says Gupta. “By removing the collaborative portion of wiki, we were able to let customers publish their Web sites using the wiki functionality without fear of visitors being able to edit their content. Because this was developed by Ensim, it’s completely unique to the industry and makes for a very lightweight, user-friendly site content management.”

In terms of ease of use, Ensim has completely revamped the installer for Linux as part of the OS separation feature and Gupta says that the complete installation now takes a little less than two clicks on an icon.

“We’ve always been known for our stability and security and we like to keep these high standards with all of our releases,” says Gupta. “Ensim Pro X is raising the bar for control panels and this product represents a major step forward. We are allowing our customers to be on the bleeding edge of the Web hosting industry.”

Ensim Pro X will be available for purchase at Ensim’s online store or through the Ensim Active Reseller Network by mid-June 2006. For more information about Ensim or Ensim Pro visit the company’s Web site.
