October 29, 2007 — (WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — Server automation and virtualization provider Ensim (ensim.com) announced on Monday it is offering a new service manager for Microsoft Terminal Services, bringing additional functionality to Ensim’s Unify Shared Edition.
Ensim Unify Shared Edition is a single, centralized software application that enables service providers to activate, configure and managed their unified communications and collaboration infrastructure. The new service manager will enable providers to offer access to centralized applications such as Microsoft Office, further expanding their services within the enterprise.
As a component of Microsoft Windows, Terminal Services enables users to access applications and data stored on a remote computer over a network. For an enterprise, Terminal Services enables an IT department to install the applications on a central server. The new Ensim Unify service manager enables providers to capitalize on Terminal Services to easily expand their portfolio of outsourced services.
“We’re delighted to be unveiling a new Service Manager for Microsoft Terminal Services and to offer increased functionality that facilitates the deployment and management of Windows-based services,” says Francois Depayras, VP of sales and marketing at Ensim. “Terminal Services, together with Unify, not only enables increased productivity for IT administrators, but also drives new revenue opportunities for service providers.”
SWsoft announced last month that it purchased the Ensim Pro software automation business from Ensim for an undisclosed amount.
