Endurance International Group, the parent company for HostGator and BlueHost, announced on Monday that it has extended its partnership with Google for the Get Your Business Online program.
Get Your Business Online is an initiative where Google partners with web presence providers including web hosts and website builders to help small businesses create websites. The program includes a free website, free domain and ongoing tips and education, as well as in-person seminars. Google launched the program a few years ago to address the fact that 55 percent of small businesses the US still do not have a website or online presence.
While the program is international, the US program specifically has brought more than 325,000 businesses online. Endurance International Group will be partnering with Google for the US-based program.
“For Endurance, helping small business owners succeed in the online world means enabling them from the get-go,” Endurance CEO Hari Ravichandran said in a statement. “First, getting them online with hosting, then giving them access to website building tools, and tying it all together with SEO and marketing solutions, so their site looks good, functions well, and can be found by the right customers. This partnership with Google demonstrates our shared passion for getting small businesses online and allowing them to harness the power and potential of the web.”
Aside from partnering with Google on this program, Endurance has ramped up its commitment to small businesses through other avenues, most recently through an investment in Automattic, WordPress’ parent company. These initiatives should help the company get some positive PR after recent problems with its Utah data center have frustrated customers.
