The Statesmen website shows HostGator's employees' responses to the survey on its website
(WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — Web hosting provider HostGator has been ranked as one of the top 10 places to work in Austin by its employees and the Austin American Statesman news site.
This news comes less than a week after the WHIR talked to HostGator chief marketing officer Taylor Hawes about its free hosting in India offering with Google.
According to the press release, HostGator employees participated in a third party survey to evaluate and rank the company on various factors including culture, management, direction and more.
“We place a large emphasis on company culture here and we are excited to see ourselves ranked as one of the top places to work in Austin,” Brent Oxley, founder and chairman at HostGator said in a statement. “We provide employees with many extras including game rooms, an office gym, free catered lunch everyday and many more extra perks that we feel helps create a great workplace in which people want to succeed.”
HostGator ranked number 10 on the list for medium-sized businesses.
According to its profile on the Statesman, its workplace strengths include execution, career, managers, and conditions. The website says HostGator currently employs 267 people regionally.
HostGator announced its Austin office space expansion in May 2010, and promised to initially hire 200 locals.
In June, HostGator told the Statesman that it would hire approximately 250 employees in Austin over 12 months in positions including systems administration, technical support and field representatives. HostGator also employs about 815 people in Houston.
The WHIR will be in Austin on February 23, 2012, for a free networking event. To attend the event, visit the website.
