Emerging Telephony Conference Planned

November 29, 2005 — (WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — O’Reilly Media (oreillynet.com) announced on Tuesday that it is now accepting registration for ETel, the O’Reilly Emerging Telephony Conference. The conference, which will take place January 24 to 26, 2006 at the San Francisco Airport Marriott, will bring the different perspectives of the IP telephony business and developer communities to address key issues.

“It’s now as easy to create a voice application as it is to create a Web application, and many of the same technologies are used in both application areas,” says Surj Patel, ETel program co-chair. “This creates tremendous opportunities for enterprise users, carrier providers, developers and consumer-servicing entrepreneurs.”

Innovators of VoIP, built voice applications, and migrated to IP telephony platforms will discuss how they integrated new technologies, as well as the ups and downs of their mission to provide better service, more features, and lower prices.

ETel will feature such notable speakers as ConceptLabs executive Peter Cochrane, head of Wanadoo research Norman Lewis, Microsoft Voice Applications’ Amritansh Raghav and Tellme chief creative officer Gary Clayton.
