(WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — About a month after its partner summit in Germany, email and groupware provider Open-Xchange announced that it has formed an agreement with Openprovider to be the exclusive distributor of Open-Xchange in the Netherlands.
According to the press release, Openprovider will make hosted Open-Xchange available to resellers, IPs, and small web hosting companies.
In November, Open-Xchange partnered with cloud services provider LuxCloud to offer a hosted version of Open-Xchange to its customers in Luxembourg.
“Communication and collaboration are leading the way for the adoption of cloud applications with small business owners and private users, in particular, looking for an affordable alternative to Microsoft Exchange and Sharepoint,” Rafael Laguna, CEO of Open-Xchange said in a statement.
Last week, the WHIR posted a video interview with Laguna where he discussed the recent Open-Xchange partner summit and the company’s plans for the organization. At the partner summit, Open-Xchange demonstrated a work-in-progress user interface upgrade that will be introduced in mid-2012.
Openprovider says its partners are now able to provide collaboration and mobility services ideal for SME customers as it is billed on a monthly basis.
“As email, calendars and address management are all key for digital communications, we think that the Open-Xchange solution will give our customers excellent upsell capabilities,” Arno Vis, CEO of Openprovider said in a statement. “Hosted communication services based on Open-Xchange are ideal for resellers, ISPs and web hosts to build additional revenue with their existing customers and attract new customers.”
Open-Xchange integrates email, calendar and contact functionality with social network and document management capabilities.
Openprovider offers customers domain registration, domain management, SSL certificates, DNS management, Parallels Licenses and SpamExperts. Open-Xchange says it integrates fully with the products Openprovider delivers including Parallels Plesk Panel and Spam Experts.
