(WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — Email provider Open-Xchange (www.open-xchange.com) announced on Thursday that it now has a tighter integration with Parallels (www.parallels.com) automation, by adding support for Parallels Business Automation Standard.

According to the press release, the Open-Xchange 4PSA OXtender for Plesk makes deployment and billing of Open-Xchange simpler for customers using Parallels Plesk Panel and Parallels Automation, and now Parallels Business Automation Standard.

Parallels Business Automation Standard is the hosting automation software that manages all business aspects of shared hosting, VPS hosting, and dedicated hosting from a single-pane interface.

The integration of Open-Xchange with Parallels control panel and automation software allows web hosts and their resellers to enter the business application market with Open-Xchange, according to the press release.

“Small businesses are increasingly looking to purchase multiple services — such as domains, website hosting, messaging and collaboration services and software as a service (SaaS) applications — from a single source,“ Rafael Laguna, CEO of Open-Xchange said in a statement. “Parallels control panels and automation tools help hosters run their operations as efficiently as possible, while Open-Xchange provides hosters and their resellers with attractive features to differentiate in the market and increase the average revenue per user.”

Open-Xchange says web hosts can easily replace the Standard Plesk Webmail with the Open-Xchange interface to deliver business-class email and collaboration features to their customers.

“Open-Xchange offers a great, yet simple business model for hosters and service providers using Parallels Plesk Panel to deliver true business-class email features including groupware, social networks-enabled collaboration and mobile sync solutions,” John Zanni, vice president of service provider marketing and alliances at Parallels said in a statement. “Hosters remain competitive by replacing old webmail for all existing email accounts in a very cost-effective and profitable way and without changing their existing email infrastructure.”

Open-Xchange integrates email, calendar, contact and task management with advanced features such as document sharing. Open-Xchange also includes Social OX features to give users the ability to consolidate existing webmail accounts into a folder in Open-Xchange. Contact details from social networks like Facebook and LinkedIn can be added automatically to the Open-Xchange address book.

Parallels APAC Summit attendees can view a live demonstration of Open-Xchange’s integration with Parallels Plesk Panel and Parallels Automation products.

Recently, Open-Xchange integrated with cPanel.
