(WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — Email hosting provider Apptix (www.apptix.com) announced last week it has selected hosted messaging and Web security services provider Symantec Hosted Services (www.symantec.com) as the email protection service for its 300,000 global Hosted Exchange users.
Apptix is now including Apptix Boundary Defense for Email with all hosted Exchange mailboxes.
The email protection service provides comprehensive virus and spam protection, and content control at the network perimeter.

Apptix Boundary Defense for Email includes anti-virus engines, proven spam filters, content and attachment filters and fraud detectors to help protect corporate assets from message-borne threats.
The email protection service ensures that companies and organizations will be able to reduce the amount of unsolicited messages.
This in turn decreases the loss of productivity associated with reading and deleting spam, and reduces related processing, storage, and bandwidth costs.
Email content controls prevent data leakage, enforce acceptable use policies, ensure regulatory compliance, and reduce the risk of legal action.
Apptix Boundary Defense for Email such includes features as protection from spam, viruses, malware and phishing attempts, defense against perimeter email attacks, directory harvesting, and denial of service attacks, an administrative and reporting portal, 24-hour monitoring, multi-language support, and an effective quarantine management system.
