Open-Xchange is hosting its third annual Summit in Cologne
(WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — Open source email and groupware provider Open-Xchange (www.open-xchange.com) announced on Friday at its third annual Open-Xchange Summit that it expects to have more than 42 million users by year end – an increase of 75 percent over the prior year.
This announcement comes less than a month after Open-Xchange named Bob Pacheco senior vice president and general manager Americas and announced plans to open an office in San Francisco.
Open-Xchange has become a top provider of business-class webmail for the hosting industry and has partnerships with hosting providers worldwide including 1&1 Internet, Network Solutions, STRATO, Host Europe, Dotster, Acens, Surftown and Hostpoint.
Recently, Open-Xchange integrated its user interface into the Openwave Rich Mail product for service providers to personalize, brand and monetize their messaging offerings, according to the press release.
“Open-Xchange´s world-class webmail and mobile solutions have become the starting point for many providers to enter into the cloud application market,” Rafael Laguna, CEO of Open-Xchange said in a statement. “As consumers and small businesses are increasingly looking to purchase all key communication and IT services from a single source, we are starting to see telcos, cable providers and mobile network operators adding Open-Xchange to their product portfolio to support this demand.”
Open-Xchange demonstrated a preview of the next-generation of its software to Summit attendees. The new version, to be released in the second half of 2012, is focused on providing a much improved user experience, according to the press release. The new release will improve the experience on mobile devices and focus on content, speed and simplicity, Open-Xchange stated.
