Web hosting company Endurance International Group, whose hosting brands include Bluehost, Directi, Domain.com, HostGator, and others, is planning on hiring as many as 300 new employees at its Burlington, Mass., head office over the next five years.
According to a report from Boston Business Journal, the company plans on staffing 150 to 300 positions in the next three to five years at its 59,000-square-foot Burlington office where it currently has 150 employees. The company has 2,600 employees worldwide.
EIG CEO and founder Hari Ravichandran told BBJ that the company’s revenue is growing due to new small- and medium-sized business customers and a general increase in revenue per customer with the expansion of the variety of services it offers.
The company’s Q2 2014 earnings call, indeed, shows a growing company. The average subscriber paid $14.33, which is $1.32 more than in Q2 2013. It also added around 93,000 net paying subscribers in the latest quarter, and generated $159 million in adjusted revenue, representing revenue growth rate of 22 percent over Q2 2013.
While EIG is expanding it workforce in the US, it is also heavily pursuing opportunities in emerging markets. At the beginning of the year, Endurance bought Directi, India’s largest domain registration provider, for $110 million. And last month it forged an agreement with Google to help small and medium-sized businesses establish a web presence in Africa and Southeast Asia.
Expanding its workforce is necessary to roll out new services and support current and new customers without hiccups.
