April 20, 2004 — (WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — According to a report in eWeek, Egenera (egenera.com) and 3PARdata (3pardata.com) have entered into a joint marketing and support agreement to offer virtualized server and storage offerings for enterprise data centers.
Egenera’s BladeFrame servers and 3PARdata’s InServ storage devices are interoperable, the companies say, helping move customers closer to a utility computing model. Egenera and 3PARdata have been working together for nine months to integrate their products.
Under the agreement, the two companies will also cooperate in the area of support. 3PARdata is joining Egenera’s Accelerate Alliance Program while Egenera is a member in the 3PARdata Alliance.
