April 22, 2004 — (WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — Outsourcing giant EDS (eds.com) announced on Thursday that it has elected Ambassador Richard Fisher, former deputy US trade representative and vice chairman of advisory firm Kissinger McLarty Associates, to its board of directors.
Fisher served as deputy US trade representative from 1997 to 2001, responsible for trade policy and negotiations in Asia, Latin America and Canada. In the role, he spearheaded a number of high-profile negotiations, including the US-Vietnam Bilateral Trade Agreement signed by President Bush in 2002 and the initiation of the free trade agreements with Singapore and Chile.
At the same time, he served as vice chairman of the Overseas Private Investment Corporation and as a member of the National Intellectual Property Law Enforcement Coordination Council.
