Tenzing announced on Thursday that it is now a Silver Hosting Partner in Magento’s Hosting Partner Program. Tenzing said the recognition is a part of its commitment to innovating managed hosting for customers over the last five years.

It is also committed to expansion with a recent entry into the European market and a new data center in the US last year.

Tenzing is one of only 11 Magento hosting partners. Magento Managed hosting is supported at its own data centers in the United States, Canada and the United Kingdom as well as on AWS.

In a conversation with the WHIR last month, Raj Atwal, Vice President and General Manager, Ecommerce, explained the Tenzing commitment to its ecommerce customers, “Some of the things that we’re bringing along for those guys [ecommerce] are getting those retailers and merchants to focus on driving revenue and driving the customer experience while we look after things like security, performance, PCI and so forth…our competitors had the same types of services, in terms of backups and monitoring, we just decided to go a little bit higher up that stack so in terms of key differentiation and why one would pick Tenzing [customized ecommerce].”

It makes sense for Tenzing to strongly focus on Magento since it is the fastest growing ecommerce platform. Brian Shepard, CEO of Tenzing said,  “It’s flexibility, ease of use and responsiveness make it a natural choice for merchants who are themselves experiencing accelerated growth. Managing Magento effectively requires a knowledgeable hosting partner who delivers optimal performance, security and reliability on a range of infrastructure, including cloud platforms like Amazon Web Services (AWS). We are proud to join the ecosystem that ensures Magento merchants succeed.”

In May, Tenzing announced it’s commitment to AWS as well. It added Magento Optimized Hosting on AWS as a way for customers to leverage AWS’s scalability, but also optimize their deployment, performance, security, reliability and availability.

Derek Jacobson, Vice President, Ecommerce and Web Content Management Systems at Levementum, and a Tenzing customer, said in a statement that Tenzing offers, “truly unique tool sets that allow a merchant or ecommerce implementation partner to drive more value.  Every time we’ve asked for something from Tenzing, they came back with better than expected results.”
