(WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — Customers of eBay’s hosting service ProStores (www.prostores.com) have reportedly suffered downtime Tuesday, according to a report by AuctionByes.
ProStores sellers reported their sites experienced about two hours starting at 3:30 p.m. EST on Tuesday.
Issues with the hosting service began earlier that day with many secure pages hosted on ProStores running into timeout errors.
ProStores said it detected an issue involving the traffic load balancer, and claimed to have resolved the problem in the afternoon just before the outage occurred.
This marks the second outage the hosting service has experienced in the last month. ProStores suffered a brief outage on December 23.
Lin Shearer, senior manager and head of marketing and revenue for ProStores said in October that “ProStores has been experiencing short, intermittent outages that have affected a small sub-set of our merchants over the past few weeks,” and said the company had identified the likely cause of the outages and was working on a permanent solution to address the issue.
ProStores merchants flocked to discussion boards to vent about the downtime.
