April 15, 2002 — (WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — Easyspace Ltd. (easyspace.com), a UK-based domain name registrar and provider of Web hosting services, announced a partnership today with New.net, a provider of alternative Top Level Domains (TLDs).

Under the agreement, Easyspace clients will have the ability to register New.net TLDs from the company’s Web site. New.net offers more than 25 descriptive TLDs that include .shop, .agent, and .ltd.

Easyspace said domain names in French, German, Italian and Spanish will also be available across Europe.

“Our partnership with New.net is evidence of Easyspace’s continuous commitment to offer our customers the largest possible choice of domain names,” said Erik Young, Easyspace CEO, adding it would empower its clients to register “more descriptive domain names, and in our customers’ native languages.”

Because the company’s TLDs are not ICANN-approved, New.net has teamed with a number of leading ISPs to activate its domain names at the network level to ensure their full operation across the Internet.

“The decision by Easyspace to be the first registrar partner worldwide to sell New.net domain names is representative of an entrepreneurial spirit that the company has always embraced,” said David Hernand, CEO of New.net. “The partnership between New.net and Easyspace demonstrates our combined vision for an Internet landscape that offers greater choices to businesses and consumers.”
