October 22, 2008 — (WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — UK Web host Easyspace (www.easyspace.com) has launched “Park ‘n’ Profit,” a domain name service designed specifically to offer unused domain owners a one-stop registration and parking service that lets them earn money from their parked Easyspace domains.

According to Easyspace’s Wednesday announcement, the new Park ‘n’ Profit service “with the correct optimisation” can let domain owners offset the cost of their domains through keyword targeted advertising profits. Park ‘n’ Profit lets users add, optimise or remove domain names from their existing Easyspace account in just a few simple steps, allowing their domains to earn pay-per-click advertising revenue.

“From our understanding, this is the first service available in the UK where users can register and monetise a domain name through one single provider,” Easyspace sales and marketing director Errol Vanderhorst said in a statement. “While we already offer other free additions with each domain, as well as comprehensive support and low costs, Park ‘n’ Profit really does offer domain customers a fantastic opportunity to cover the annual costs of their domain names.”

Companies such as ADEGRO (www.adegro.com) and Verio (www.verio.com) offer parked domain plans that act as inactive domains reserved for later use. Alternatively, a parked domain can point to another domain. For instance, thewhir.co.uk or similarly thewhir.net redirect to thewhir.com.

Easyspace said the PPC advertising revenue these parked domains generate reduces the price barrier of buying multiple domain extensions for future projects, as top level domains continue to proliferate due to loosened ICANN restrictions.
