(WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — Houston-based managed services firm DYONYX (www.dyonyx.com) has selected data center services provider Data Foundry (www.datafoundry.com) to implement a robust disaster recovery initiative, which will include a replicated server environment in Austin, as backup for its production servers in Houston.
According to its Tuesday announcement, Data Foundry will provide high availability data center services to support DYONYX’s expansion plans for the Texas market.
“Our evaluation process centered on finding a tier III or higher data center located in Austin, Texas,” DYONYX president Chuck Orrico said in a statement. “While conducting an onsite tour, we were particularly impressed with the physical security and levels of redundancy that Data Foundry has across their entire critical infrastructure. At the end of the day, it was the people that put Data Foundry over the top. We realized that the personalities we met at all levels of their company matched the commitment that we have toward customer service.”
Texas-based food chain Whataburger Restaurants (www.whataburger.com) chose Data Foundry in 2007 to provide custom-built data center services for its mission-critical server infrastructure so that its operations would be maintained in the event of a local disaster, such as a hurricane.
“After speaking with Chuck Orrico, I was again reminded why so many Gulf Coast companies have leveraged our Austin Data Center for their disaster recovery needs,” Data Foundry sales vice president Mark Noonan said in a statement. “Austin is a safe haven from natural disasters and provides easy access for companies located along the coast. Our Austin facility has a reputation throughout the technology community as the premier data center in the Central Texas region. We are pleased to have been selected as a key component in DYONYX’s expansion.”
