DreamHost’s new approach enables customers to design a mobile-specific website from the ground up, embrace responsive design, and develop native mobile applications.
“Empowering our entrepreneurs and developers to easily create and maintain a great mobile web experience for their customers is essential given over 25 percent of traffic to sites hosted on DreamHost is mobile,” Simon Anderson, CEO of DreamHost said in a statement. “We’re all about engineering flexibility into our platform, so offering DudaMobile website optimizer alongside WordPress responsive design themes and best practices tips for custom website development presents a comprehensive set of options for mobile web success.”
The DudaMobile platform is a mobile website builder for customers to optimize their existing website for mobile devices. Customers also have the option to build a customized experience, with integrated features like tap-to-call, driving directions and social media feeds. Converted websites will automatically sync with the desktop version.
DudaMobile will be available for $9 per month, but during the initial launch period will be available for $6.95 per month, which is a 20 percent savings off the regular price.
“DreamHost is embracing the mobile Web and serving the needs of their customers who may not have mobile-optimized sites,” Itai Sadan, co-founder and CEO of DudaMobile said. “This partnership integrates our mobile site-building tools with DreamHost services to make the mobile sites accessible to more small businesses and developers.”
Users can create responsive websites through DreamHost’s hosting plans, including its DreamPress WordPress one-click installs.
