(WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — Security firm Symantec (www.symantec.com) announced on Tuesday that domain registrar Moniker (www.moniker.com) now offers VeriSign SSL certificates and VeriSign’s Trust Seal to its customers.

This announcement comes a week following Symantec’s partnership with Adgregate Markets to provide VeriSign’s SSL certificates and trust seal to Facebook storefront service, ShopFans.

Symantec says Moniker offers VeriSign SSL and EVSSL products as well as the VeriSign Trust Seal and its Seal-in-Search service that displays “the VeriSign Trust Seal next to a website’s link within search results in participating search engines, partners and security tools.”

“We pride ourselves in making domain registrations safe and secure in an easy-to-manage and worry-free environment, and that’s why we’re adding VeriSign SSL, VeriSign Trust Seal and GeoTrust certificates as options for our registrants,” Moniker general manager Craig Snyder said in a statement. “In a marketplace where trust is essential to success, the VeriSign brand is the most recognized trust mark on the Internet. Without question, offering a range of VeriSign brand certificates and seals represents a competitive advantage for us and for our domain name customers.”

Moniker also offers a SSL certificate from GeoTrust, a company owned by Symantec. Moniker says this will enable it to offer all ranges of plans of Symantec’s SSL products.

“The domain registration industry is an increasingly competitive and price-driven environment, but it takes innovators like Moniker to understand the pivotal role that trusted visual cues can play in reassuring online visitors that the sites they’ve reached are safe to browse and that their transactions will be secure,” Michael Lin, senior director of Trust Services at Symantec stated. “With both GeoTrust and VeriSign trust products, Moniker customers have a broad range of SSL and Trust Seal offerings to choose from, and they have a clear and easy path to premium VeriSign protection.”

Early February, Symantec launched Security Endpoint Protection 12.
