(WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — Domain marketplace and monetization system Sedo (www.sedo.com) announced last week that it had launched a revamped version of its website, the product of an extensive study of employees, community members, focus groups and consultants.
According to its announcement, Sedo developed the new site to address the domain investment needs of seasoned community members, adding improved features and functions around the buying, selling and monetizing of domains.
Sedo says the most significant changes to the page include a new homepage featuring three gateways and a prominent domain search field, a new “resources” section that enables users to view market trends and monitor domain auctions in real time, a “market activity” section providing an overview of buying and selling within the Sedo community, a new member login section that provides quick access to a large selection of valuable information and increased visibility into the “secure services” and “policies” sections where information on buying and selling policies and Sedo’s accreditation are kept. The market activity page also includes an extensive list of available bargain domains.
The redesign of Sedo is significant to the hosting community, not only because Sedo is an informational and service resource for hosting providers, but because its services are available to hosting providers in a partner format.
The new site is also available in a variety of languages, including English, German, French and Spanish, and an overview of the site is provided in several other languages.
“Since our inception, Sedo has strived to provide our global members with the most modern, advanced and secure domain tools and services available on the market. Today, with the launch of the new Sedo.com platform, we are continuing this tradition and leveraging the feedback from our most important partners – our users – to develop the most resourceful and user-friendly domain site on the market,” says Jeremiah Johnston, chief operating officer for Sedo, quoted in the press release. “We hope these important updates and improvements will help make the domain market more accessible for new users and provide all of our visitors with the rich user experience they’ve come to expect from Sedo.”
Along with the major site enhancements and new section, says Sedo, the redesign included some focus on minor adjustment to navigation and design intended to improve the browsing experience and the site’s overall usability.
