(WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) – Managed DNS provider Dyn Inc. (www.dyn.com) announced on Tuesday that it has acquired email delivery firm SendLabs (www.sendlabs.com). The terms of the deal have not been released.
“Due to the tremendous success with our suite of consumer/SMB grade email services, we’re continuously asked by our enterprise DNS clients for a solid outbound email delivery solution,” said Kyle York, VP sales and marketing at Dyn Inc. “Deliverability is a major issue, especially for our e-commerce and Web 2.0 clients whose apps have automated bulk and transactional email functionality. We’re excited to provide our customers with another great infrastructure service.”
According to the press release, SendLabs offers a wide range of email solutions for enterprise companies and white label services. Its API-rich SmartMTA technology will be the focus for Dyn Inc. moving forward. SmartMTA enhances SMTP delivery results by intelligently queuing and delivering each message.
“Dyn Inc. is a fast-growing, serviced-obsessed company who is focused on providing the most rock-solid Internet infrastructure around,” said Brett Houle, managing director, SendLabs for Dyn. “We’ve built great friendships with the team at Dyn over the years which has contributed to how well our teams have worked together. We’re beyond excited to combine our talented teams and efforts in order to bring our clients the most innovative email solutions available.”
Since 2003, Dyn Inc. has offered four core consumer and small business email services on DynDNS.com. With this new acquisition the company plans to strengthen email gateway, backup, forward and outbound SMTP tools and deliver more intelligent MTA (Message Transfer Agent) and API-driven solutions.
Last year, Dyn Inc. acquired EveryDNS.
