DNS Made Easy Provides Hosting Information Transparency With Free Tools

(WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — Managed domain name server service provider DNS Made Easy (www.dnsmadeeasy.com) has released ShowMyHost (www.showmyhost.com), a free online tool for network and DNS administrators to find the web hosting provider, DNS provider, and mail hosting provider of a specific website on the Internet.

According to DNS Made Easy, and its parent company Tiggee (www.tiggee.com), their Friday announcement, ShowMyHost provides support representatives with quick answers to some of the most common questions asked by clients regarding hosting company information for their website.

“Hosting services on the Internet can be bought and resold several times over,” Tiggee system operations vice president Bryan Hughes said in a statement. “There is a real need for tools like this one. Often, web hosting services are set up once and then no one accesses the account for extended periods of time until there is a need to reconfigure something. Suddenly, no one remembers who hosts their website!”

While the whois listing for a domain displays name server information about a domain, ShowMyHost goes deeper, letting clients know if an organization has switched hosting companies, or hired a new administrator. To alleviate some of the confusion, DNS Made Easy decided to go public with this tool and provide it to the Internet community free of charge.

Formed in 1999, Tiggee provides Internet solutions for businesses through its subsidiaries including IP Anycast enterprise managed DNS services firm DNS Made Easy, enterprise virtualization environment provider VPSit (www.vpsit.com), dedicated server hosting and colocation provider Host Made Easy (www.hostmadeeasy.com), TLD name services provider Top Level DNS (www.topleveldns.com), and others.
