(WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — Web hosting provider DiscountASP.NET (www.discountasp.net) has renewed its Microsoft Gold Certified Partner status, adding a fourth Microsoft competency, allowing the firm to continue to receive a rich set of benefits, including access, training and support, as well as keeping its competitive advantage in the channel.
According to DiscountASP.NET’s announcement Wednesday, DiscountASP.NET has now added the new “hosting solutions competency” as its fourth. Introduced in 2008, Microsoft’s hosting solutions competency provides hosting partners access to sales, marketing and training opportunities, plus recognition as a hosting expert.
“As a hosting provider that focuses 100 percent on Windows-based shared web hosting, we felt that it was very important for us to obtain the hosting solutions competency and we are extremely proud to join the expert group of hosts that have attained this competency,” DiscountASP.NET marketing and business development vice president Takeshi Eto said in a statement. “Having achieved four competencies firmly demonstrates our expertise and commitment to Microsoft technology and innovation.”
Each competency has a unique set of requirements and benefits, formulated to accurately represent the specific skills and services that partners deliver to customers. As part of its Gold Certified Partner status requirements, DiscountASP.NET has declared four Microsoft competencies since gaining Gold Partner status in 2006, including the advanced infrastructure solutions, networking infrastructure and security solutions competencies.
Launched in October 2003, Microsoft’s partner program represents the company’s ongoing commitment to the success of partners worldwide by recognizing their expertise and rewarding the impact partners have in the technology marketplace.
In June 2008, hosted and managed Microsoft Exchange Server, email messaging and collaboration software provider Ceryx (www.ceryx.com) gained Microsoft competencies in hosting solutions and unified communications.
In September, web host Server Intellect (www.serverintellect.com) renewed its Microsoft Gold Certification with three competencies including hosting solutions competency.
