DiscountASP.NET announced on Monday that it has added scheduled deployment support to Snapp Systems, its platform as a service solution for .NET applications that it launched in June.
Snapp Systems supports application deployment using FTP, Web Deploy, Team Foundation Server and GIT to a staging site where users can test their app before it is live, according to DiscountASP.NET. It is currently available as a free beta that developers can sign up for.
Now, with scheduled deployment support, developers using Snapp can choose to schedule the publishing of their application from the staging environment to the live production site.
“Our goal is to make Snapp a first class PaaS for .NET applications,” Takeshi Eto, VP marketing and business development at DiscountASP.NET said. “With our announcement of scheduled deployment, we introduce a useful feature that is possible with our elastic cloud solution because we offer a staging site.”
Snapp Systems is based on Windows Azure Pack, which allows hosting providers to run the technology behind Azure Web Sites on-premises.
Platform as a service is expected to be one of the fastest categories of cloud growth, a recent IDC report said.
