Dimension Integrates VeriSign Security

April 15 — (WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — IT services and solutions provider Dimension Data (didata.com) and Internet infrastructure services provider VeriSign (verisign.com) announced that they have formed an alliance to provider managed security services to enterprise customers in the UK and Europe. According to the partnership, Dimension Data will incorporate VeriSign cross-platform monitoring, management and event-correlation capabilities into its architecture, security consultancy and deployment offerings.

“The combination of Dimension Data and VeriSign offerings will allow customers to take proactive action to defend their networks, enforce corporate standards and improve levels of compliance to an ever-increasing number of regulatory and legal standards,” says Mark Danton, security solutions director in Europe for Dimension Data.

The companies say the integration of capabilities enables customers to have a comprehensive view of their network health and security. The managed security services can also serve as an early warning system. As operator of the .com and .net registries, VeriSign goes through 250 million security events a day and tracks viruses and fraud though VeriSign Payment Services.

“Our agreement with Dimension Data to provide advanced MSS solutions for European enterprises is another example of the VeriSign commitment to the EMEA market,” says Souheil Badran, vice president, of EMEA VeriSign security services. “The recent opening of our Swiss security operations center, and our relationship with Dimension Data, will allow even more enterprises to use the proactive intelligence provided by VeriSign to protect their networks from malicious security threats.”
