June 30, 2005 — (WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — Technology property owner and operator Digital Realty Trust (digitalrealty.com) announced on Wednesday that it had completed the acquisition of five data centers and one office building totaling 642,000 square feet of space.
Four of the data centers and the office building, covering 560,000 square feet, are located in Santa Clara, California and El Segundo, California. They are leased to SAVVIS (savvis.com) through 2019 and were purchased for $92.5 million.
The fifth data center is a 82,000 square foot Denver, Colorado facility, purchased for $16.4 million. It houses Ameriquest Mortgage Company’s corporate operations and is leased through 2012.
“These assets provide us with a fantastic opportunity to continue delivering on our business strategy of providing mission critical, highly improved space to the country’s leading businesses,” says Michael Foust, chief executive officer of Digital Realty Trust. “The six properties we acquired are fully leased for an average of 13 years, further strengthening our already solid lease roll-over profile.”
