The InfoWorld 100 is intended to exemplify the best of IT. Companies are recognized for using the latest enterprise technology and achieving success. Ranked by InfoWorld?s senior editors, the 100 organizations represent some of the best achievements of 2002 in companies spanning 11 industries. Winners were chosen based on their ability to leverage technology to bolster business efforts, maximize return on investment, streamline business processes, reduce costs, save resources, improve customer service and create new revenue streams.

“If there’s one thing this year’s InfoWorld 100 companies have in common it is tenacity,” said InfoWorld editor Leslie O’Neill. “From car manufacturers to banks and from retail outlets to universities, the 100 companies on our list responded to ongoing economic woes by investing in innovative technology projects that streamline business processes, improve customer service, and make their employees’ jobs easier.”
