March 11, 2003 — (WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — Outsourced application solution provider Apptix (Apptix.com) announced on Monday that it has been chosen by Web and application hosting service provider Digex Inc. (Digex.com) for its turnkey hosted business messaging and collaboration solution.
According to the agreement, says Apptix, Digex will sell hosted messaging services using the Apptix Exchange on Demand for Service Providers platform. Digex plans to begin marketing the solution to enterprise customers in the second quarter of 2003.
The solution will be deployed in Digex SmartCenter data centers and will offer customers all of the messaging and collaboration features, including email, shared calendaring and contact management, available on the Microsoft Exchange 2000 platform. Digex plans to support the hosted Exchange solution with a service level agreement guaranteeing performance.
