DH Capital Advises USCarrier
September 26, 2006 — (WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — Financing advisor DH Capital (dhcapitalllc.com) announced on Monday it represented fiber-optic network provider USCarrier Telecom (uscarrier.com) on its recently completed financial restructuring and strategic partnership with American Fiber Systems (americanfibersystems.com).
USCarrier, comprised of 20 independent telephone companies from Georgia and South Carolina, operates a network covering more than 40 cities across the Southeast US. AFS provides metropolitan fiber optic network infrastructure and wholesale transport services in markets including Atlanta, Cleveland, Kansas City, Minneapolis, Nashville and Salt Lake City.
DH Capital advised USCarrier on the restructure of its existing debt financing led by The CIT Group and Gilmer County Bank, as well as an infusion of equity capital from existing shareholders and AFS. The investment banking firm also secured AFS to manage the day-to-day operations of USCarrier.
“The DH team did a tremendous job for USCarrier,” says Teddy Solomon, chairman of the USCarrier management committee. “This was a complicated assignment that required cooperation from many different parties. DH Capital came up with a well thought out plan and executed it successfully on our behalf.”
