August 21, 2003 — (WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — Dell (dell.com) announced yesterday price reductions for various enterprise, small and medium-sized business and consumer products.
The price reductions go as high as 22% for various enterprise class products.
Savings of up to $550 are available for selected Precision workstations and the price for a PowerEdge 6600 four-processor server is being reduced by up to 22% or $2800.
Various popular rack-dense servers have been reduced by up to 10%.
“Historically, Dell has delivered the best total value in the industry and we are extending that legacy,” said Kevin Rollins, president and chief operating officer of Dell. “All Dell customers, from large corporations to home users, can benefit from the price reductions we are announcing today.”
The price reductions came a day after Hewlett-Packard (hp.com) announced disappointing third quarter financial results. According to reports, HP?s less than stellar results were due in part to an aggressive pricing campaign targeted at Dell.
