Delaware County Facility Planned

April 6, 2006 — (WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — Bank service provider Citicorp North America (citicorp.com/us) announced on Thursday that Liberty Township officials in Delaware County, Ohio have approved an incentive package to build a 300,000 square-foot bank data center.

The data center, projected to create 55 to 60 jobs and cost $465 million, is scheduled to be constructed at the Park at Greif corporate office park.

The township and the Delaware County Commissioners, who worked together on developing the office park, are ironing out the final details of the project but hope to give it the official okay in the near future, says Tim Boland, Delaware County economic development director.

Boland says Liberty Township is offering 72 percent abatement on real property taxes for 15 years, and 60 percent abatement on equipment for two years. He anticipates jobs at the facility to pay an average of $50,000 per year, creating new annual wages of $2.8 million in Delaware County.
