September 2, 2008 — (WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — Set to open this month, the 130,000 square-foot DataSite Orlando (datasiteorlando.com) data center has appointed Ken Sanders general manager, a 10-year, critical facility and data center veteran who has managed both military and civilian operations.
Announced Tuesday, Sanders will be responsible for all DataSite Orlando facility operations and critical systems management, customer installations and operations support. He will also be involved in capital project management, security protocol adherence and provide guide the facility as it undergoes $26 million in upgrades.
DataSite Orlando is owned by BURGES Property + Company (burgesprop.com), which awarded design, construction and facilities management company Total Site Solutions (www.totalsitesolutions.com) a contract to complete the data center’s first phase of mechanical and electrical infrastructure and provide tech-related facility maintenance services.
Prior to his position at DataSite Orlando, Sanders was senior data center manager for AT&T’s nearby Orlando Global Internet Data Center where he was oversaw the engineering and installation of customer space, critical power, cooling, connectivity and managed services.
Sanders also has 23 years of experience in the US Army Signal Corps, engineering, installing, operating and maintaining critical communications systems worldwide.
