DataPipe Adds More Data Center Capacity in Central New Jersey

(WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — Managed services provider DataPipe (www.datapipe.com) has added a third data center facility in Somerset, New Jersey, making the 55,000 square foot facility the company’s seventh data center.

Previously utilized by a multi-national financial services firm, the “Somerset Three” facility can support 45,000 square feet of raised floor with a critical power load of 8 Megawatts. This facility follows the 2006 acquisition of the company’s first Somerset facility and the 2008 acquisition of a second facility.

Upgrades to the power infrastructure and the implementation of three factor security systems are expected to be complete for an April 1, 2010 opening.

“In 2009 we tripled the capacity of our London and Hong Kong data centers,” DataPipe chief executive officer Robb Allen said in a statement. “We expect to be at full capacity in our current New Jersey facilities by the second quarter of 2010, so the addition of this data center is timely and will enable us to continue to meet the growing demand for managed IT services.”

Founded in 1998, DataPipe now provides custom solutions for complex Internet-facing infrastructures for more than 1,000 customers in seven data centers and eight office locations in Silicon Valley, New York Metro, London, Hong Kong and Shanghai. It proactively manages security, monitoring, storage, data center operations, servers, and applications including database administration and the full software stack.

Headquartered in Jersey City, New Jersey, DataPipe ranked number 15 on NJBIZ magazine’s (www.njbiz.com) list of New Jersey’s 50 fastest growing private companies last year.
