Peter Briggs, executive vice president at Data Storage Corporation.

(WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — Data recovery and storage provider Data Storage Corporation (www.dscorp.com) announced on Wednesday it has appointed Peter Briggs the company’s executive vice president.

As part of the SafeData acquisition in June, Briggs will be responsible for managing the SafeData  unit of the company.

His main focus will be in helping companies protect their data, minimize downtime and recover and restore data quickly.

“Peter’s knowledge of the information technology and specifically the high availability in the IBM iSeries space is extensive,” says Chuck Piluso, chairman and CEO of Data Storage Corporation. “He led SafeData to achieve double digit year-over-year growth since its inception in 2005.  Peter will be an instrumental part of the Data Storage Corporation management team.”

Briggs founded SafeData in 2005 realizing the growing HA need for replication and data recovery solutions for mid-sized businesses and experienced continual growth in both revenues and its customer base during its first five years.

Prior to SafeData, Briggs was president and CEO of ADS, a company he founded and managed.

He has more than 20 years experience in the IBM mid-market, having led ADS to become one of the largest distributors of AS/400 servers in the New England market.

Prior to ADS, Briggs held many sales and sales management roles for several IBM business partners where he had significant revenue responsibility.
