(WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — Canadian data center operator Data Centers Canada (www.datacenterscanada.com) announced on Thursday it is now offering IPv6 at its Toronto Canada data centers.
The announcement comes a month after the company expanded its data center in Vaughan, located just 13 miles north of downtown Toronto.
In addition to the Vaughan facility, Data Centers Canada also has a primary 8,000-square-foot data center in downtown Toronto.
IPv6 is a next generation Internet protocol that provides many benefits over the IPv4 standard.
Built on a 128 bit architecture instead of the 32 bit IPv4 standard, IPv6 addresses the current need for additional IP space as the current IPv4 architecture nears worldwide depletion.
The IPv6 architecture offers simplified network management, end to end connective integrity, unconstrained address abundance, integrated interoperability and mobility, and improved security.
Data Centers Canada is offering it customers multiple IP schema options which include IPv4, IPv6 or a dual configuration solutions at no additional cost.
