According to ScienceLogic, Equinix will use its infrastructure management platform to proactively monitor its IT infrastructure and enable employees to be more efficient.
The customer win is significant for ScienceLogic since Equinix connects more than 4,000 companies their customers and partners inside data centers located in 31 strategic markets. Most recently, Equinix announced plans to build its fourth Tokyo data center and opened a data center in Miami to meet growing customer demand.
In September ScienceLogic chief technology officer Antonio Piraino spoke to the WHIR about how it wins cloud hosting customers. In the summer, Piraino talked to the WHIR about its South African managed service provider customer AppCentrix and how it uses the ScienceLogic platform as the core of its monitoring solution.
ScienceLogic’s platform includes global monitoring and alerts that provide immediate visibility and integrate with the global ServiceNow ticketing system for end-to-end service management, according to the press release.
“We had several key requirements for an IT infrastructure management platform, including single pane of glass monitoring of our information assets, visibility into our infrastructure that is tied into alerting and ticket management, and of course a system that was easy to deploy and easy to use,” Steve Upp, director of server operations at Equinix said in a statement. “We previously had monitoring from different solutions that never completely met all of our needs. You can’t operate as a knowledge-aware IT organization without knowing what’s going on throughout your global IT infrastructure. The ScienceLogic platform does all the heavy lifting and really works out-of-the-box, allowing us to be more proactive and service-oriented.”
“Equinix is a perfect example of a global company getting real value from a globally consistent monitoring solution. Many of our customers came to us because the multitude of monitoring tools they were using just weren’t working. We founded ScienceLogic for exactly that reason,” David Link, co-founder and chairman at ScienceLogic said in a statement. “Equinix is now in a position to offer their customers more value and enhanced services because they can proactively monitor and manage their systems with the ScienceLogic Smart IT platform.”
