(WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — Data center operator CoreSite (www.coresite.com) announced on Tuesday that it has formed a partnership with European data center firm Interxion (www.interxion.com) to provide dual-continent data center space for cloud companies looking to expand internationally.

This announcement comes almost a week after Interxion and partners launched the Cloud Testlab, a turnkey cloud hosting test environment for European service providers.

According to the press release, this partnership provides firms loooking for data center space in the US and Europe  with similar cloud-optimized network access and colocation environments. Interxion partnered with data center operator Telx last year to provide a seamless transatlantic migration path into colocation facilities for both companies.

“As the market for cloud services continues to grow, companies like Interxion and CoreSite represent an ideal way to reach the highest concentrations of consumers on both sides of the Atlantic. US based customers can now move seamlessly into Europe, extending connectivity and presence across the region,” David Ruberg, chief executive officer, Interxion said in a statement.

Combined, CoreSite and Interxion have 1.8 million square feet of data center space covering key cloud computing markets such as Silicon Valley, Los Angeles, New York, Northern Virginia, Amsterdam, London, Paris, Frankfurt, Dublin and Zurich, plus other locations.

“CoreSite remains focused on cloud computing, facilitating its international development, and capitalizing on the revenue opportunities it presents,” Thomas M. Ray, CoreSite president and CEO stated. “The alliance with Interxion ensures a strong international extension for CoreSite and Interxion cloud customers via an efficient and, seamless international data center expansion process.”

CoreSite and Interxion cite their cloud outreach programs as additional synergies between the companies. CoreSite has its CloudCommunity and Interxion has its cloud hub program that it launched last November.

Interxion and CoreSite also offer cloud test lab and demo environments. They are both carrier-neutral data center providers and offer direct access to hundreds of connectivity providers.

CoreSite went public last year.
