Inside a RagingWire data center in Sacramento
(WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — Data center provider RagingWire announced on Wednesday that it successfully completed its SSAE 16 Type II audit.
According to the press release, the audit was completed for the period between September 1, 2010, and August 31, 2011, and covers its CA1 and CA2 facilities in northern California.
RagingWire says it will begin the SSAE 16 audit process at its new VA1 data center in Ashburn, Virginia, upon its completion during Q1 2012.
“Successfully transitioning to the new SSAE 16 standard is a critical operational milestone,” Jason Weckworth, RagingWire’s vice president of data center operations said in a statement. “It allows our customers to maintain continued confidence in our data center operations while being assured that their infrastructure environment remains compliant with the latest industry reporting standard.”
SSAE Type II is more exhaustive than Type I, and includes in-depth testing of controls and practices over a minimum six-month period.
RagingWire says it has completed annual independent third party audits for seven consecutive years. The company has more than 600,000 square feet of data center space on the east and west coast, according to its website.
Recently, RagingWire named William Dougherty its vice president of information technology.
RagingWire offers colocation, bandwidth and a variety of managed services.
