The Austrian data center from which Interxion will support CSC's managed services
(WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — Data center operator Interxion (www.interxion.com) announced last week that IT company CSC (www.csc.com) had selected its Austrian data center to support CSC’s managed services operations.
CSC took a server room with an expandable cage in Interxion’s VIE1 Vienna data center to provide customers with a secure solution.
“In Interxion we found an independent, well-certified partner whose core business is the operation of data centers,” said head of CSC’s managed services, Austria and Eastern Europe Andreas Keisler. “At CSC, our overriding focus is on providing professional services to customers, so we need suppliers that will offer matching levels of high-quality support now and in the future.”
Interxion says its facility provides direct access to approximately 100 carriers and ISPs, and hosts a switch for VIX, the Vienna Internet Exchange.
“CSC is a worldwide, leading IT consulting and service company. The reliability, performance and connectivity of their infrastructure is critical to them and to their customers,” said managing director of Interxion Austria Christian Studeny. “Interxion’s data centers, design and operation philosophy, customer service structure, and accreditation strategy are all built around these customer needs.”
Interxion has 28 data centers in 11 European countries.
This announcement comes less than a week after Interxion’s director of corporate communications, Ali Moinuddin, was appointed to co-chair of the Green Grid’s European Communications Committee.
