Duckett joins CyrusOne from CoreLink Data Centers
(WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — Data center operator CyrusOne announced on Monday that it has named Michael Duckett chief operating officer.
According to the press release, Duckett will oversee daily operations as CyrusOne looks to expand its business.
This announcement comes about a month after CyrusOne announced that it bought 40-acres of land in Arizona to build a data center near Phoenix.
“Michael will help us continue to accelerate and expand CyrusOne’s business with Fortune 1000 customers,” Gary Wojtaszek, president of CyrusOne said in a statement. “He has both the operations and technical experience that is essential for successfully managing the day-to-day operations at a company that is moving as quickly as CyrusOne.”
Cyrus says its accelerating growth is illustrated by its third quarter results, which the company says make up the strongest sales quarter yet. According to the press release, CyrusOne has sold 80,000 square feet in the past 15 months.
Prior to CyrusOne, Duckett was president and COO of CoreLink Data Centers where he was responsible for information technology operation, delivery, and profit-and-loss management. Prior to CoreLink, Duckett was senior vice president of operations at Terremark, where he was responsible for colocation, hosting and network business lines.
In mid-October, CyrusOne named Kevin Timmons chief technology officer.
