Data Center BTP Appoints President

November 15, 2006 — (WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — Data center operator Baltimore Technology Park (baltimoretechnologypark.com) announced on Monday it has named Jim Weller its president.

As president, says BTP, Weller will help expand the facility’s services, customer base and work toward future build-outs.

Weller has been involved in every aspect of the data center business, including the design, operation, upgrade, site selection and acquisitions of more than 50 centers nationwide. In his 20-year career, he has held executive positions with Switch and Data, MCI, Sprint and Frontier Communications. An original member of Switch and Data’s executive team, Weller directed strategic planning, initiating product and sales deployment strategies that helped facilitate considerable market share growth by the time he left in 2005.

“Baltimore and Washington, D.C., offer an attractive regional market opportunity for a modern data center like BTP,” says Weller. “Being part of a fast-growing startup, for which there is an obvious market need, is both fun and exciting. BTP is an opportunity I just couldn’t pass up.”

BTP reported recently it had signed an agreement with HITT Contracting as its general contractor for the $3 million build-out of additional space at its data center in Baltimore, Maryland.
