(WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) – Business technology solutions and services provider CSC (www.csc.com) announced this week that it has partnered with cloud security firm Symplified (www.symplified.com) to build a cloud-based identity and access management solution, CloudIAM. CSC says this solution addresses the challenges faced by government and commercial enterprises who are transitioning applications to the cloud.
According to the press release, CloudAIM has several features to ease cloud adoption including controlling access to applications based on individual employee functions, providing automated on-boarding and off-boarding and the ability to efficiently respond to requests for detailed access logs to meet compliance requirements.
“CloudIAM is perfectly suited for companies that have a mixture of in-house and SaaS applications, and are experiencing difficulties managing identity and access,” Siki Giunta, vice president, Cloud Computing and Software Services, CSC said in a statement. “By offering this solution, CSC is providing the end-to-end capabilities that break down barriers to cloud adoption and help businesses achieve the agility, efficiency and competitive advantages of as-a-service.”
CSC CloudIAM is powered by Symplified and provides access control, centralized authentication, single sign-on, user management, identity virtualization, compliance and auditing, according to the release.
Symplified partnered with open source cloud computing provider Cloud.com last month to combine Symplified and Cloud.com CloudStack to enable users to deliver IAM security and integration.
“In order for large enterprises and government agencies to adopt Cloud computing, they must be able to integrate this new environment with their existing IT infrastructures and enforce the requisite levels of security, access control, and policy enforcement,” Eric Olden, CEO and founder of Symplified stated. “Symplified provides a comprehensive identity and access management suite that was purpose-built for the Cloud, yet supports data center resources including directories, authentication systems and other identity technologies. We are pleased to be working with CSC to provide the underlying technology engine for the CloudIAM solution.”
CSC says “initial set-up includes access to the administrative portal, seat license per end user, connectors to hundreds of leading SaaS and private cloud applications, ongoing administration, and customer support and training for local administrators of the solution.” The company offers optional services including IAM consulting.
CloudIAM is being introduced in North America first, but the company plans to roll out the offering in EMEA in the near future.
CSC invites interested parties to tune into its webinar on Wednesday, April 13, where the company will provide more information on how to mitigate risk and simplify administration with its IAM solutions.
