(WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — Business technology solutions and services provider CSC (www.csc.com) announced on Thursday it has promoted Peter Allen to president of global sales and marketing.

Allen was promoted from his former position of group president of strategy and business development for CSC’s managed services sector, which he has been serving since September 2009.

He will be responsible for directing CSC sales and marketing strategies worldwide to help sustain CSC’s competitive advantage in bringing service offerings to market.

He will report to CSC chairman, president and CEO Michael W. Laphen.

“Peter’s extensive expertise across the full spectrum of IT services in both commercial and public sectors positions him to lead in this important role,” says Laphen. “His track record and energy will be valuable assets as we bring greater innovation and competitive advantage to our clients, and deliver on our aggressive growth objectives.”

Allen’s responsibilities will include developing sales and marketing strategies in key markets, leveraging alliances to support growth goals, and strengthening CSC’s presence in the marketplace.

He joined CSC in September 2009, after serving as partner and managing director for global sourcing advisory firm TPI, and as chairman and CEO of Data Dimensions.

During his tenure at TPI, Allen served as chief marketing officer, as well as directed the TPI Index, the leading indicator of trends and developments occurring in the global sourcing industry.
