CrystalTech Deploys SmarterTrack

May 22, 2008 — (WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — Web hosting provider CrystalTech Web Hosting (crystaltech.com) said on Wednesday that it has deployed the customer service software created by hosting software developer SmarterTools (smartertools.com).

CrystalTech, the Windows-focused hosting subsidiary of Newtek Business Services,  is installing the SmarterTrack software, which will provide the company with help desk, ticket system, live chat, cost analysis, data mining, knowledge base and reporting applications, delivered through a single web interface.

According to CrystalTech, the company is the “first major Windows hosting companies to fully integrate SmarterTrack into [its] customer service and support system.”

“Up to this point, we have had to use separate solutions for our ticket system, help desk, and live chat,” says CrystalTech president Robert Cichon, in the company’s announcement. “SmarterTrack has all of these solutions incorporated into one easy to use software package which allows us as an organization to learn one application and still continue to provide top-notch customer service to our more than 107,000 domains and 70,000 customers.”

CrystalTech says SmarterTrack is well suited for hosting companies because of its flexibility and installation options. The software can be installed on VPS or dedicated servers, as well as shared hosting environments. According to the announcement, the product will soon be available in a software as a service model.

In March, web host ViUX Systems reported that it would be offering customers SmarterTools software licenses.
