Crucial Paradigm Goes Green

February 13, 2008 — (WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — Web hosting provider Crucial Paradigm Australia (crucial.com.au) announced on Wednesday it plans to make its entire line of Australian hosting solutions environmentally friendly in order to reduce the increase of carbon emissions into the Earth’s atmosphere.

The Web host originally began planning its green hosting initiative last July, and since then, the company has researched and implemented a series of changes and policies designed to better protect the environment. It now runs a completely paperless office, at night shuts down a series of nonessential systems to save electricity, and minimizes vehicle usage.

With help from Carbon Neutral, Crucial Paradigm Australia has already planted 160 trees in Coomberdale, Australia, offsetting 28 tons of carbon dioxide emissions. The trees help preserve wildlife and recapture atmospheric CO2, which is then converted into oxygen.

“We see our company as not only a member of the Australian community, but also a part of the world community. It is therefore imperative we do everything we can to protect and preserve our planet, both on behalf of ourselves and our customers,” says Ijan Kruizinga, COO of Crucial Paradigm Australia. “We believe businesses can be both financially successful and environmentally responsible, and we hope Crucial Paradigm Australia is a testament to that.”
